Claims that are entirely unfounded سه شنبه ۱ مهر ۱۴۰۴ 11:59

Even more concerning is the fact that when Iran prepared a draft resolution to be considered by the IAEA, aimed at preventing attacks against the nuclear facilities of Member States, the United States exerted pressure on IAEA Member States to vote against Iran’s proposal. Furthermore, it threatened that, should the resolution be adopted, the United States would withhold its financial contributions to the Agency and withdraw from it altogether.

What is truly regrettable is that the attacks by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran’s nuclear facilities took place at a time when the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities had been verified by the IAEA. As a Member State of the Agency, Iran has consistently adhered to its regulations, and these very facilities have been subject to the most extensive inspections carried out by the Agency’s inspectors. The threats made by the United States and the pressure it exerted on IAEA Member States led Iran to conclude that the draft resolution would not be adopted; consequently, Iran decided to withdraw it.

This unlawful and unethical influence exerted by the United States over international fora not only represents a dark stain on the conduct of international relations, but also starkly exposes the profound weakness of such bodies — particularly those of a scientific and technical nature, among which the International Atomic Energy Agency is a prime example.

In such an unacceptable situation, where international law is trampled upon and hegemonic powers commit whatever unlawful acts they wish without facing any obstacles, international relations are gravely undermined and deprived of even the slightest credibility.

The same lack of credibility was demonstrated by the three European States to the JCPOA — namely the United Kingdom, France, and Germany — in the course of invoking the so-called ‘snapback’ mechanism. All informed experts in international law agree that these three European States had no legal right to trigger the snapback; nevertheless, they have shown disregard for legal norms, acting solely in pursuit of their own interests and objectives.

International fora, in particular the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency, are also subject to the domination of Western powers and they do not have any independent will.

The clearest example is the UN's inaction in confronting the crimes of the Zionist Regime. For the past two years, this illegitimate and occupying regime has been engaged in acts in Gaza that amount to genocide, including the destruction of homes, mosques, hospitals, and educational institutions, as well as the displacement of the local population, while the United Nations has done nothing beyond expressing regret.

So far, six resolutions calling for a ceasefire and an end to the crimes of the Israeli regime have been introduced at the United Nations, all of which were blocked by the United States and its allies. Although the UN has declared that Israel’s actions in Gaza constitute ‘genocide,’ it has been unable to take even the smallest step to halt these crimes. This organization, following the lead of dominant powers, turns a blind eye to the crimes of governments aligned with these powers and exerts pressure on states that seek to maintain their independence.

These bitter realities show that all Western claims about democracy, human rights, and humanitarianism are lies. The United Nations is also a tool of the hegemonists, and it seems that the only way left is for independent nations and governments to free themselves from this cruel domination and seek to create an organization that will ensure the freedom and real rights of people all over the world.
