مقاله زیر برای کنفرانسی تحت عنوان "مذهب و همزیستی مسالمت آمیز" تهیه شد. این کنفرانس با همکاری دو نهاد " کمیسیون ملی یونسکو" و " مرکز مطالعات بین المللی ادیان دانشگاه تهران" در تاریخ ۲۱و۲۲ آذرماه ۱۳۸۸ ( ۱۲و ۱۳ دسامبر ۲۰۰۹ ) در تهران برگزار گردید.

 

Islam’s Perspective on peaceful Coexistence

A paper presented to the Religion and Peaceful Coexistence conference organized by the National Commission of the UNESCO and the Centre for International Religious Studies of the Tehran University

Abstract:

In the first part of my paper I have explained that the human-being in his individual and social construction needs to a religion. With logical analyzing of this fact, I have given a comprehensive definition of the reality of the human-being, in order to be able to lay the foundation of the basic viewpoints of this paper on that.

Moreover, human-being’s need to laws and regulations for his social life leads us to find an answer to a question raised here i.e. what is the best laws and regulations to be followed by the human-being. Discussing in this field bring about deliberating of the Characteristics of the Islamic laws for the human-being’s life. The main points of this part will be the two important principles of “justice” and “rights”. Both two titles are objects of a wide argument in different fields of the human sciences. Islam as a school of thought in the meantime which is a way for life has its own comments for the tow principles which are brightly explained in this paper.

As the main goal of the paper, the viewpoint of Islam on peaceful coexistence, as not only for the Muslim society, but as a world-view for managing of the entire humanity, has been demonstrated.

In the last part of the paper some exact and historical samples of the peaceful coexistence in the Islamic societies beside the non-Islamic ones have been given and the background of such a situation has been explained.        

Vocabularies:

Human rights: The rights of people from every kind and type.

A.H. : After Hijrah, the Islamic date which based on the immigration of the prophet from Mecca to Medina.

(s.a.) : Sallallahu Alaihi wa Alehi, (peace and mercy of Allah be upon him) for prophet and his progeny.

(a.s.) : Alaihi al-Salam, (peace be upon him) for the progeny of the prophet.

Justice (al-‘Adl): Being on a right, correct and balanced way without any deviation.

Right (al-Haq): Basically is something, to which a person is entitled.

Qa’edah-e la-Zarar: No-damage formula.
