یک وقت رئیس جمهور نیکسون می خواست در مورد «اصول و احکام اسلامی» مطالبی را مطالعه کند. لذا به مسئول سازمان «سیا» (CIA) دستور داد مقاله ای در این زمینه تهیه کند. پس از مدتی مقاله حاضر شد اما خیلی مفصل و طولانی بود.

او از مشاور خود رابرت دیکسون خواست که آن را خلاصه کند. رابرت مقاله را خواند و آن را برای رئیس جمهور خلاصه کرد. محتوای مقاله رابرت را علاقمند به تحقیق بیشتر در مورد اسلام کرد ، بنابراین برای کسب اطلاعات بیشتر در مورد موضوع در سمینارها و کنفرانس های اسلامی شرکت کرد.

وی سر انجام در سال 1981 به دین اسلام گروید. او در باره علت گرایش خود به اسلام توضیح می دهد که: من به عنوان یک دانشجوی حقوق، سه سال در دانشگاه هاروارد تحصیل کرده و قوانین حقوق بین الملل و کلیه قوانین اسلام را مطالعه نمودم. جالب اینکه در حقوق بین الملل هرگز به واژه «عدالت» برخورد نکردم، در حالیکه این واژه را در قوانین اسلامی به وفور یافتم.

او همچنین می گوید: زمانی که ما در حال بحث و جدل حقوقی بودیم، روزی یكی از اساتید حقوق یهودی نیز با ما بود و در دفاع از قوانین حقوقی آمریکا اصرار زیاد داشت. من تصمیم گرفتم او را ساکت کنم.

از او سؤال کردم: آیا از قانون ارث در قوانین حقوقی ایالات متحده اطلاع دارید؟

پاسخ داد: بلی! قوانین مربوط به آن بیش از 8 جلد است.

به او گفتم: اگر قانون ارثی برای شما بیاورم که بیش از ده سطر نباشد ، آیا باور خواهید کرد که قانون گزار آن بر حق است؟

وی گفت: ممکن نیست چنین قانون طولانی و گسترده ای در مورد ارث فقط در ده سطر خلاصه شود!

من آیات ارث را از قرآن گرفتم و به او ارائه دادم. (سوره نساء: آیات 11 و 12)

چند روز بعد او نزد من آمد و گفت: ذهن انسان ممکن نیست همه اقوام نزدیک خود را بتواند آنقدر گسترده بپوشاند که کسی را از قلم نیندازد و سپس ارث را بین آنها به طور عادلانه تقسیم کند به گونه ای که به کسی ظلم نشود!

سپس این شخص با ایمان یهودی نیز به اسلام گروید!!

دکتر رابرت دیکسون کرین از اوائل دهه 1981 به عنوان یک مسلمان فعال تمام وقت کار کرده است. وی از سال 1983 تا 1986 مدیر دعوت و تبلیغ در مرکز اسلامی واشنگتن بود. در سال 1986 وی به عنوان مدیر انتشارات به "انستیتوی بین المللی اندیشه اسلامی" پیوست و سپس به تأسیس "شورای مسلمانان آمریكا" كمك كرد و از سال 1992 تا 1994 به عنوان مدیر بخش حقوقی این سازمان فعالیت مى كرد.

I studied law at Harvard University for 3 years but I never found the word "justice" in their law, however.

I have found this word frequently in Islam.

He converted to Islam in 1981 and named himself "Farooq" after Omar Farooq, who was the Imam of Justice after the Prophet.

He says: "Once we were having a legal debate. A professor of Jewish law was also with us. When his demeanor began to increase, I decided to silence him.

I asked him: Do you know the extent of inheritance law in the US Constitution?

He said: Yes, he has more than eight volumes.

I said: If I bring you a law of inheritance which is not more than ten lines, will you believe that Islam is a true religion?

He said: It is not possible that such a long and wide law of inheritance can be summed up in just ten lines ...

I took the verses of inheritance from the Quran and presented it.

A few days later he came to me and said: It is not possible for a human mind to cover all its close relatives so wide that it leaves no one behind and then distribute the inheritance among them so justly that Don't oppress anyone ...

Then this person of the Jewish faith reverted to Islam. !!

Dr. Robert Crane (Farooq) is still alive. He has reached the age of 91 years. He is happy to spread the candles of Islam in America according to his vastness and power.
